James Island, SC - Former presidential candidate and Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's Free and Strong America PAC has endorsed Peter McCoy for South Carolina's House 115 seat.
In giving his endorsement, Governor Romney thanked McCoy for his "commitment to public service." Romney continued by stating, "If [Peter] and other like-minded leaders are successful, America's future will be even more prosperous and secure than our past."
"I am deeply honored to have the support of Governor Romney - one of America's true conservative leaders. Governor Romney understands, as I do, that to get our neighbors back to work, stop wasteful government spending, improve education, and keep our neighborhoods safe, we must start our efforts on the local and state levels."
U.S. Senator Jim DeMint, State Representative Nikki Haley, and State Representative Tim Scott also received Governor Romney's support this year. "To join Senator DeMint, our future Governor, and our future Congressman as a Free and Strong America PAC endorsed candidate is proof-positive that the national conservative-reform movement is powerful here in South Carolina," said McCoy.
Governor Romney joins South Carolina Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell, former South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon, State Representative Chip Limehouse, Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten, Charleston County Councilman Paul Thurmond, James Island Town Councilman Joe Qualey, Charleston City Councilman Tim Mallard, Charleston City Councilman Mike Seekings, Charleston City Councilman Dean Riegel, and Charleston City Councilman Blake Hallman in endorsing McCoy's campaign.
