Columbia, SC - Job creators from the South Carolina Business and Industry Education Committee have officially endorsed small businessman Peter McCoy in his re-election bid to the South Carolina State House through their political action committee, BIPECPAC. Today’s announcement comes just days after McCoy received the endorsement of South Carolina’s small business group, the NFIB/South Carolina SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust.
William L. Pherigo, Chairman of the SCBIPEC, commended McCoy in the endorsement stating: "BIPECPAC regards [McCoy’s] continued service as crucial and will result directly in the creation of jobs and a higher standard of living for all South Carolinians. The business community knows [McCoy] to be a champion of free enterprise and competition.”
Pherigo continued: “BIPECPAC is a statewide nonpartisan organization of diverse businesses and industries that promotes the election of pro-business candidates to the General Assembly. [McCoy’s] endorsement was made on the basis of [his] performance as a legislator, input from our Members and [his] constituents.”In accepting the endorsement, Rep. McCoy said: “I am honored to receive the endorsement of our state’s business leaders for my fight to create jobs and get our economy back on track. While my opponent thinks more government spending will create jobs, I know that government must reduce duplicative regulations and taxes so our businesses can grow, put our neighbors back to work, and make our state economy thrive. When re-elected, I will continue to sponsor and vote for legislation that helps create the environment needed to accomplish this.”
